The UBC Timeline

This timeline based around the idea that a successful fourth broadcast network is launched in 1969. In our timeline, this would be true until FOX starts broadcasting in October 1986.

This timeline (TTL) remains the same as our timeline (OTL) until the spring of 1968. This is when Howard Hughes attempted to purchase ABC. His bid was rejected. In response, Hughes decided to create a broadcast network to compete with ABC. To this end, Hughes would purchase the Sports Network Incorporated (SNI) and rename it the Hughes Television Network (HTN). This is where our point of departure occurs. In OTL, after the creation of HTN, work on the broadcast network stopped and HTN became a footnote in history. In TTL, work doesn't stop and leads to creation of the fourth television network, the United Broadcasting Company (UBC).
